Training Walks

Over Anzac weekend a group of five of us walked around Lake Waikaremoana. It is a beautiful walk and has been given a lot of attention so it is to Great Walk standard. We spent a night in a hut and a night camping with Kiwi’s sounding through the night. I got to share a toilet with a huge spider and trial some more tramping food and a jet boiler cooker.






Next up is the Whanganui River that is part of the Te Araroa Trail but I skipped it as I wanted to walk the length of the North Island. Over Queen’s Birthday Weekend I am heading there to kayak for three days. More info

Of course I need lots of training before I start the South Island so if you have any suggestions or would like to join me for a tramp, let me know
