From the 13th October to the 23rd December 2014, I walked the length of the North Island. I had many people join me walking and many support in other ways. Thanks you to all that helped me out! Collectively we raised $14,000.
It was such a fantastic experience with so many great stories, I have decided to write a book about the North Island adventure I had. I will be busy writing during 2016/2017 and the book should be completed mid 2017.
Here are a few shots from my time walking the North Island…
At the start point with Gayle, who walked Day 1 and Day 3 with me
I’m about to kayak the Puhoi River. I’m posing with Marianne and Hannah who are from Seattle
Beautiful Ocean Beach with Jack, who walked a couple of empty days with me
Matthew from Whananaki Camp Ground gave me a bouquet of broccoli
Reaching Auckland was exciting after four weeks. Here is Wendy, Lee, Mandy and Felicity who joined me walking through the city
The tall (Jason) and the short (Wendy) joined me for a very wet day walking from Rangiriri to Huntly
So steep is this terrain, I had to hold on to the fence on the way down
There is so much mud on the trail. Here is Graeme and Vanessa slip, sliding up the hill on the 42nd Traverse
One of the best pieces of litter I found on the side of the road
I walked with tennis stars that wouldn’t stop singing “I would walk 500 miles…”
The three day Tararua Tough Trampers – Graeme, Natalie and Jeanette
Hugging the finish rock…yay!
