South Island

From the 27th October to the 10th November 2015 then from 8th December 2015 to the 10th May 2016 (a few trips home in between), I walked the length of the South Island.  I had many people come and walk with me and many support in other ways. Thank you to all that helped me out! Collectively we have raised $16,500.

It was such a fantastic experience with so many great stories, I have written a book about the adventure I had.

Here are a few shots from my time walking the South Island…

Leaving Rotorua Airport to start the South Island with Gayle

Beautiful Queen Charlotte, not the best weather

Karrie-Ann walked from Anakiwa to Havelock (and we celebrated an All Blacks World Cup win)

Chontelle walked Havelock to Pelorus Bridge (and we had a coffee delivery)

Peter walked with me through the Richmond Ranges

Judy, Kevin and Royce joined me from Rangitata River through to Tekapo

Back country tramping

Hut in the distance

Mary and Steff joined me from Twizel to Lake Middleton

Great view down to Lake Hawea

imageRoyce came back for more (Lake Middleton to Hawea)

Wendy and Graeme did a backwards leg of Queenstown to Arrowtown and then Wanaka to Glenhu Bay

Graeme and I with Lake Wanaka in the background

Dot walked for 16 days from Queenstown to Bluff

I meet Miriam along the trail and saw her shoot a Hare for food

My Uncle Trevor, partner SallyRose, Dot and I at the Bluff finish line

Gayle joined me yet again for Stewart Island

Pete and Trix joining me for Goats Pass

What Goats Pass is like

Incredible sunrise just out of Tekapo

The place that became my finish line for the whole walk…yahoo!
